Disruptive Technologies & Laws of the Future.

Simon Moores examines the collision between the technologies surrounding computing, nanotechnology and genetic engineering. Before the middle of this century, the growth rates in new technology will appear so steep as to appear vertical but while we may intuitively believe that the present rate of progress may continue unchanged, we must prepare ourselves for a very different-looking world with profound implications for society.

Simon will draw on the work of leading thinkers and authors, Zittrain, Carr, Kurzweil, Kaku, Martin, Morgan and others to explore the direction and impact of change, both economically and socially and will ask whether the consequences of such rapid progress, may yet lead us on a journey to a better future or towards the darker vision of a 'Brave New World', envisaged by Aldous Huxley in 1931.

'The audience were clearly full of questions and were thirsty for more knowledge. We could have gone on for another hour at least! To that end, I expect we'll be in touch again.'
